Journalism, the French Way
The goal of the course is to present and then put into practice different journalistic skills and particularly the techniques linked to mastering efficient writing skills.
Various questions will be studied such as research and hierarchy of information, efficient writing skills, style, journalistic genres etc.
In order to put this into practice students will have to work on news reports and illustrate them with photographs, to conduct interviews, write commentaries and editorials.
Numerous articles and productions from the current French press will be used to cover some themes specific to French society and to be analyzed in order to better understand the specificities of Journalism, the French Way.
Required text: Yves AGNES, Manuel de Journalisme, 3e édition, La Découverte, 2015 (.pdf extracts will be provided in class by the instructor)
