Applied Stylistics : Mastering Written Discourse and Texts

The purpose of this course is to give the students a thorough knowledge of the language structures and of various types of discourse: narrative, descriptive, and dialectical. The objective is to encourage students to write clearly and subtly. Designed in co-ordination with course 611 taught in the Paris program, it will train students for this advanced course.

The course focuses on the daily practice of exercises. Students will need a unilingual dictionary, a grammar book and a course pack, in which they will find explanations of grammatical topics and exercises. This course pack will be available at the campus bookstore.
