Career Mngement Wrkshp Series
Career management is an essential life skill whether you are just starting along your career trajectory or a mid-career professional. Our Career Management Workshops synthesize your academic and professional goals, preparing you for future internship and job opportunities. Together we will identify personal strengths, build a professional brand image, and master effective internship and job search strategies. In this engaging, interactive, afternoon workshop, we will work with you to explore, clarify, and activate your professional vision. You will begin by asking yourself three key questions:
Reflecting upon my strengths, goals, and passion, how should I build my professional image or personal brand?
How can I develop a strategy for my internship and job search to align with my long-term goals?
How can I effectively communicate my strengths in professional documents and through in-person and online networking?
Topics covered will include the job/internship search, professional identity/personal branding, resumes, and networking. CACS will also be offering additional topic specific sessions throughout the semester on interviewing and compensation negotiation. Watch for those separate events.
This course is highly recommended for first-semester students; although, students in any semester are welcome. No tuition is charged for this non-credit course. All students are welcome in this course, although the NPTS, IEP, IT, IPD, and MPA advisors will be teaching the course.
The workshop on February 17th meets in person and is limited to 25 participants. Following the in-person course there will be a Happy Hour at a local establishment. On February 24th the workshop will be online to be accessible to all students. There is no limit to the number of participants for the online option.
ONLINE Course: Friday, February 24th 1:00 pm-4:30 pm. No cap. Open to all students.
