Proficiency-Based Pedagogy in Russian I
This course delves more deeply into the pivotal SLA principles with direct relevance to language instruction, exploring core concepts such as proficiency, performance, benchmarks, can-do’s, and the role of communication modes, as well as the interplay of input and output in language acquisition. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis and discussion of classroom methods that reflect SLA concepts and result from evidence-based teaching strategies. The course will include both synchronous meetings and asynchronous work.
