Mass Media in Modern Russia
Over the course of the semester students will gain a clear understanding of the Russian media and its coverage of the political, economic and cultural events in the country. We will explore the major topics currently discussed in the Russian media and analyze the ways in which they are presented in different media outlets. Through lectures, research, reading and listening exercises, in-class discussion and presentations, students will master the course material and gain thorough knowledge of the Russian media platforms, their rhetorical approaches, style and linguistic peculiarities.
