Beginning Amharic
In this course students will be introduced to Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, as well as to the politics and history of Ethiopia. We will focus on spoken Amharic, with more emphasis on listening and speaking than on reading and writing, learning how to use Amharic appropriately in the Ethiopian context. This course counts as elective credit towards the African Studies minor.
