Coaching and Issues in Sports *
In this course, students will examine coaching and its effect on individuals from elementary school through college. Students will explore various forms of coaching philosophy and pedagogy, team management, and sports psychology. Guest speakers will be an important component of the class as they facilitate discussions and present on current issues in athletics. Students will be required to complete daily readings/podcasts and create a personal coaching portfolio. A final group presentation will allow each student to explore a relevant coaching topic of their choosing to demonstrate the skills and techniques they have refined over the term. (Open to Juniors and Seniors only)
