Contemp Boundaries Middle East
This is course is designed to provide an overview of the power of geographical boundaries in the Middle East and North Africa. It will discuss the regional conflicts and their impact on the stability of the region. It will also discuss the role of globalization in shaping the contemporary Arab identity as well as the impact of migration on Arab relations with their neighboring countries. The course will also touch upon social boundaries as a way to examine the recent changes in contemporary Arab society. The course is conducted entirely in Arabic using authentic materials from Arabic books, periodicals, newspapers, magazines, social media, and Satellite TV stations. The class will meet twice a week.
