International Trade and Economic Diplomacy (ITED) builds practical analytical and negotiation skills for diplomacy aimed at influencing domestic and foreign government policy and at regulatory decisions affecting global trade and investment. These skills are built in the context of international commerce, global policy initiatives, and trade agreements: in-depth analysis of the factors that bear on the policy process at home and abroad, political advocacy tools and techniques to assure support for desired outcomes, and the skills needed to complete successful negotiations, conflict resolution, and advocacy initiatives. Emphasis is on negotiating, political, legal and organizational analysis, coalition building, and concise analytical writing.
