Staff Managmnt in Intl Context
This provides an overview of the operational and strategic considerations and issues of people management in an international organization. The course is oriented from the practitioner’s perspective with case studies drawn from real world scenarios. In this course students will examine the complexities of staff management in international and multinational context with a practical focus on selection processes, including selection criteria and job descriptions, salary negotiations, including ethical considerations, performance management and team management in an environment where international mobility is high and where working with remote teams is also required. Suggested readings are provided for theoretical background and will be linked to the case studies. The course will be conducted through 30 hours of face to face workshop-style contact and requires 30 hours pre-workshop preparatory work and 30 hours post-workshop assessment preparation. Student participation is essential.
