"The concept of "Academic Japanese" encompasses a wide range of skills in the Japanese language. This course specifically focuses on the sets of skills that are crucial for research in the field of Japanese language education and second/foreign language acquisition. Through this course, students will: (a) Develop and enhance their communication skills in an academic and professional context. (b) Undertake a small-scale research project on a selected topic, building upon the knowledge gained from previous courses. (c) Craft an academic paper at a level suitable for proceedings. (d) Navigate the procedures for submitting a paper presentation. (e) Learn how to effectively present a research study in an academic setting, while also cultivating the ability to critically analyze and review the work of others, providing constructive feedback in return.
