This course introduces the basic concepts and theories of intercultural communication using a fresh and practical approach. Students are encouraged to examine and analyze the driving forces behind both the purposes and means of communication in intercultural settings. They are expected to find the relationships between the actors of communication and the media in which the communication and interaction among the actors take place. They are also required to study and demonstrate the types and functions of various modes of communication. Students will be asked to understand and display basic skills in interpersonal communication and leadership.
