U.S. Senator Leahy Case Study
Explore the federal legislative process through the career of former U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, the fourth longest serving senator in U.S. history. His service as chair of the Appropriations, Judiciary and Agriculture Committees offers a unique look at the creation and impact of federal legislation for Vermont, the nation and the world. In this course we will utilize a case study approach featuring former staff as weekly guest speakers. Experts in their field of policy, the guest speakers will provide insights into areas of public policy including appropriations, foreign policy, civil rights, nutrition and organics. Course work will focus on analyzing and articulating the process and application of federal legislation.
