IEMG8663A-S21
Onsite Perspectives
This course is an introduction to the onsite management of U.S. and overseas international education programs. A key component of the course will be on-line interaction with local, national and international education organizations, including Middlebury Schools Abroad. Participants will explore and evaluate a variety of international education organizations and programs, through on-line visits, observations and evaluations of K-12, community college and other higher education contexts, as well as education abroad providers. MIIS students will engage with international educators to better understand the management of international education programs. Students will study, explore and apply their knowledge related to advising, student services, recruitment, budgeting, management, program design, and assessment. This course provides students with opportunities to complete individual and team projects related to their observations and evaluations of international education programs. Following the course, in February, students will present their findings to current IEM students. Course hours posted are approximations and will be refined once on-line site visits are confirmed.
