Architect Design Research
Senior Architectural Design Research
This studio course constitutes the first part of the two-term senior design project in Architectural Studies. It is devoted to the study, acquisition, and development of tools of architectural design analysis and research. These tools are then applied to generate a thorough understanding of a variety of contexts, including the natural and cultural environments. The course culminates in the formulation of individual building programs and initial concept developments of the senior architectural design projects, presented in both written and graphic formats. The course includes a field trip to a major center for art and architecture, to experience the professional world of architecture in action. (Approval Required)
