Ethnography of Organizations

Ethnography of Organizations
In this course we will explore how ethnography contributes to the understanding of organizational life and organizational forms. We will explore ethnographic case studies and readings of different types of organizations (e.g., for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental agencies) from the cultural and artisan, faith-based, sports, healthcare, high tech, prisons/asylums, and finance domain. Students will develop a strong grounding in the theories of ethnography of organizations. Class discussion, short lectures, individual research writing assignments, and oral presentations will inform student learning experience. (INTD 0120 or instructor approval)
