Real Estate in Economy&Society
Real Estate in the Economy and Society
In this interdisciplinary survey course, we will explore the connections between property rights, the role of government, and economic growth. Through secondary texts mostly, we will study the social and economic dimensions of property taxation, eminent domain, housing discrimination, opportunity zones, and homeownership (and how that has gone wrong). Lastly, we will learn how real estate has become an established investment class.
