Child Development
Discussion

Child Development
This course will examine the nature of developmental changes from the prenatal period through adolescence. A variety of theoretical perspectives will be considered, each focusing on a different domain of development. The domains include biological, emotional, social, perceptual, cognitive, language, and moral development. A major challenge for developmental psychologists is to understand how these domains relate to one another, a problem we will work on throughout the semester. Developmental processes will be examined in a variety of contexts, including the home environment, day care, play groups, and the classroom. (PSYC 0105; open to seniors by waiver only) 3 hrs. lect./1 hr. disc.
