Russia Today: An Inside View
February 24, 2022, is the day when the course of Russian history changed dramatically: the day that divided the life of Russians into "before" and "after." How do Russian citizens live now? Why, despite the tragic historical experience of loss, death, and ruined lives, do people support the war? What are their sources of information? Who are the influential figures in Russia today, and who are their opponents? What are the main forms of mass and non-mass media available to Russian citizens, and how are the same events covered in these various sources? Readings will consist of texts from the last year and a half, including interviews, speeches, and news articles.
