Spanish Second Language Acquisition: Pedagogical Applications
Addressed primarily to present and prospective high school teachers of Spanish, this course includes 1) an introduction to current second language acquisition theories and their implications for classroom teaching; 2) An analysis of the differences between English and Spanish that create obstacles in the learning of grammar, focusing particularly on subjects & objects, constructions with se, gustar and gustar-like verbs, ser vs. estar, and preterite vs. imperfect. (1 Unit)
