The Classical Style
Senior Seminar in Music: The Classical Style
Viennese music of the late 18th century—the music of Haydn, Mozart, and the young Beethoven—has been treasured from that time to the present as a model of expressive composition. In this course we will refine our analytical skills by an in-depth examination of instrumental works by these three composers, identifying the traits that have earned this repertory its designation as classic.
