Adv Wrkshp on WTO Negotiations
This one credit workshop is focused on teaching students the basic methods and procedures used to negotiate in the WTO. Students will be asked to assume the role of negotiators in a simulation of the WTO’s informal “Green Room” process, and will work together to craft language on the text of a WTO agreement. The exercise will give students a better understanding of the WTO’s negotiating culture, as well as the knowledge and skills required to successfully negotiate multilateral trade rules.
This course is offered on a Pass/Fail basis. Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed either IPSG 8515, Introduction to Trade Policy, or IPSG 8623, WTO Rules, Procdure & Inst Frame Work.
