Applied Phonetics II

This course is aimed at students who have previously followed course FREN 6514 or those who master the articulation (vowels and consonants) of French.
The goal of this course is to master:
o Continuity and emphasis.
o French liaisons
o The silent ā€˜eā€™ in French.
This course allows students to understand these complex phonetics realization. It also allows them to familiarize themselves with the study of variation in French.
The approach adopted in this course is not only normative, but also descriptive; therefore non-standard pronunciation is also analyzed.
