Mexican Cinema

This course offers students a cultural history of Mexico in the 20th and 21st Centuries through the study of film. It will also contextualize the study of Mexican Cinema within major trends in its history, such as the studio era, the rise of auteur cinema, the New Latin American Cinema, and the film of the neoliberal age. The course will also introduce students to the language of cinema and to a critical repertoire of film theories. (1 unit)
