Observational Astronomy

Observational Astronomy and Data Analysis
An introduction to the concepts and techniques of acquiring and analyzing astronomical data, including celestial coordinates, digital image processing, statistical analysis, photometric systems, and spectroscopy. The College Observatory telescopes and CCD camera systems will be used extensively in laboratory work. (PHYS 0110 and PHYS 0155, or PHYS 0165) 3 hrs. lect., 3 hrs. lab.
