Writing for the Screen II
Building on the skills acquired in Writing for the Screen I, students will complete the first draft of their feature-length screenplays. Class discussion will explore the links between conventional notions of visual storytelling and alternative modes and media of writing for the screen, such as television (including sitcoms, one-hour dramas, and long form serials), non-linear and experimental forms, gaming, documentaries, etc. Students will also be required to write either one 'spec script' of a television show of their choosing, or a short-form work in their choice of medium.
