This course trains students in the practice of written translation from Arabic to English, including legal documents, expository prose, literary prose, and poetry. We will also work on captioning videos in MSA and the dialects. The emphasis will be on the production of accurate, idiomatic English renderings appropriate to the target audience. Course work includes a final translation project based on individual professional or research interests.
