Build&Invest Social Ventures I

This is the introductory course on Building and Investing in Social Enterprises. It is meant to give students an understanding of the current state of the social enterprise and impact investing ecosystem, and to learn about the management of social enterprise and impact investment. The course covers concepts, perspectives, and tools for social ventures to reach the various development milestones, such as building an innovative business model, developing strategies to scale the enterprise and social impact, practical financing strategies, and building an impact measurement framework. This course will be a workshop, and adopt an exercise based method of teaching, in order to minimize the classroom – practice gap commonly observed in business and management education. This course has no prerequisite and is open to all MIIS students.
