History of Spanish Language

History of the Spanish Language (From Latin to Modern Spanish)
Survey of linguistic and sociocultural changes from Latin to Old Spanish to Modern Spanish. The course focuses on Peninsular Spanish (especially its Castilian variety) and relates its importance to the evolution of medieval and modern standard Spanish. No research paper required. (1 unit)
