Italian Political Cinema

This course focuses on modern and contemporary Italian political films and includes thematic essays that discuss them from a variety of angles. Starting from early masters of this genre we will move on to analyze contemporary political cinema by comparing these films those once termed “civil engagement.” The course will include films on migration, political figures, Ecomafia, gender and sexuality issues and political comedies
