Languages and Dialects of Italy

The course will provide the students with tools to engage in the study of standardized Italian as well as a multitude of regional dialects of Italy. A brief introduction to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), an essential tool in the study of regional idioms, will be provided during Section 1. Italian idioms are formed through standard Italian and Italian regional variations, dialects, and other primary linguistic aspects. Idioms vary greatly by geography.
