*Discourse Analysis: Markers and Textual Types*
Three-week course, second session

We will dwell on the analysis of the construction process of the discourse in Spanish: coherence and cohesion procedures, with special focus on discourse markers. Students enrolled in this course will be able to analyze how to build communication in Spanish and how the language differs depending on the type of text and register: colloquial conversation, written or oral argumentation, academic presentation, etc. These goals should be achieved with the acquisition of a number of skills and abilities that should include the following aspects: Identification and analysis of textual types in Spanish, both written and oral; Analysis of the procedures for discoursive cohesion; Classification and use of discourse markers. (.5 unit)
