Scene Painting
This course will provide an introduction to scene painting techniques for the theatre. We will explore basic principles of scene painting by interpreting research images, paint elevations, and color models for translation into full-scale paint elevations. We will practice traditional methods of surface texturing and compare styles for two-dimensional and three-dimensional applications. Student will participate in class discussions and critiques, and develop their skills through painting projects. Each student will be required to purchase materials costing approximately $50.
