Brazilian Politics (in PGSE)

In this course we will revisit classic interpretations of Brazilian Political Science about national politics from the early 19th century to more contemporary discussions. Through different readings, we will discuss the main challenges for the construction of democracy in Brazil, institutional aspects of Brazilian democracy, new trends in the organization of the State and the public management, the dynamics of civil society, and its relationship with the State. Instruction in Portuguese (300-level).
