Critical GIS: Social Justice in the City
In this course we will learn and apply principles of Critical GIS, focusing on urban problems related to gender, race, and class. Students will construct models from social theory and represent them in a GIS framework in order to conceptualize and help solve issues related to social justice. These issues include, but are not limited to: gender based street harassment, police violence, and gentrification.
