EnergyMidd: Documenting Stories for Change
In this course we will capture the stories of Energy2028 combining journalistic and creative storytelling techniques using video, audio, and photography. On campus and in the surrounding community, this class will document an important time period in Middlebury’s environmental mission. With compelling interviews, aesthetic cinematography, music, storylines, drama, we will record people steering Middlebury on a path toward a complete shift to renewable energy. Students will develop a 2- to 4-minute digital story about someone or some activity helping achieve the aspirations of Midd’s Energy initiative. Final projects, crafted in Adobe Premiere, will be uploaded to a public class website. All equipment—video cams, microphones, portable hard drives—will be supplied by the college. (Approval required: Please send project proposals to Peter Lourie at plourie@middlebury.edu) 3 hrs. lect.
