Ag/WaterNexus:CntrlCoastLesson

The California Central Coast is a terrestrial global biodiversity hotspot, home to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and also hosts a $5 billion agricultural industry. This course will explore the relationship between agricultural productivity and its impacts on coastal water resources. Divided thematically between water supply issues and water quality issues, this course will examine proactive policy and programmatic solutions. Lessons will be highlighted by guest speakers and real world examples of proactive policy solutions. Students will leave the course understanding agricultural water quality policy, technological solutions to water quality and quantity, and water conflict resolution skills.
