Film & Lit of Lusophone World

Students enrolling in this course have an oral proficiency of Advanced Low or above. In addition, they are at the advanced level in writing and reading proficiency. The course explores a variety of novels from the Lusophone world. There will be a minimum of three authors who will be read and discussed; excerpts of several authors, and pertinent films. After discussing and analyzing in depth the respective works, students will write comparative papers applying theoretical frameworks of cross-cultural literary and filmic cultural studies. All readings and assignments are in Portuguese. (1 unit)
