Representing Reproduction

Representing Reproduction: The Politics of Reproduction 2
In this project-based seminar on reproductive politics, students will construct materials related to an animation about abortion that is being produced in the Middlebury Animation Studio. These materials may include a podcast, website, or game. Extending the discussions we had in GSFS 329: The Politics of Reproduction, we will also view popular cultural representations that focus on reproductive issues in the United States (such as television series, films, etc) and examine broader discussions of these representations (in blogs, podcasts, etc). Doing so will allow us to produce materials that both draw from academic discussions of reproduction and push beyond the limits of these texts for addressing contemporary reproductive politics.
