Environmental Health Data
Environmental health science is the study of reciprocal relationships between human health and the environment. What allows us to study these relationships? High-quality data and the skills to make sense of these data! In this course we will explore: (1) common types and sources of environmental health data, (2) analytical tools, and (3) how these data inform policy. We will discuss papers highlighting data across diverse spatial scales, from individual cells through human populations. We will also engage with these data ourselves, to explore themes relating to water, food, climate, and health inequities, with an emphasis on Vermont. (ENVS 230, ENVS 265, CHEM 270, BIOL 211)
