Race, Ethnicity, and Discrimination
In this course we will examine the impact of race, ethnicity, and discrimination on psychological development. We will consider how various aspects of human growth and well-being are shaped by racial/ethnic group membership, discrimination, social stratification, and intergroup dynamics. We will also explore major theories and research methodologies that challenge assumptions of universality. Topics addressed will include health, education, identity, and social development. (PSYC 0105; open to all psychology majors, others by waiver) 3 hrs. sem.
