Values and Uses of Prepositions in Spanish

Prepositions are considered one the most difficult topics in the acquisition of a second language. This course focuses on the study of uses and values of prepositions in Spanish in depth, and how they can be explained by teachers of Spanish in their classes. The course pays attention to some preposition with specific problems for an English speaker: A, EN, DE/DESDE, POR/PARA… Other issues will be studied such as uses of prepositions with verbs, adjectives, and nouns, and the role of prepositions in some grammatical matters (prepositional phrases, prepositional groups, etc.) The course will have not only a theoretical dimension but also a practical orientation, with exercises designed to improve the comprehension of prepositions in Spanish.
