History of Rock USSR & Russia

History of Rock in the USSR & Russia
A detailed chronicle of the origins and development of rock in Russia from the fifties to the present day. The history of popular rock groups and musicians runs in parallel with youth music subcultures: stilyagi, bitlomany, khippi, panki, metallisty, khipstery, and others. It is especially interesting that the story will be told by a direct witness and participant in these events: the instructor is not only a music journalist and critic, but also an organizer of rock concerts and festivals, and a personal friend of many rock stars. In addition to exciting stories, the course will feature a lot of specially selected Russian-language rock music. Counts as a course in culture and civilization.
