Teaching Reading and Writing in French as a Second Language
In this course, students will become familiar with the various concepts, models, processes, and strategies related to reading and writing in French as a second language. Particular attention will be paid to the links between reading and writing. Students will also make the link between theory and practice by examining various reading and writing techniques and tasks. The course also includes analysis of materials and genre, preparation of texts for use with learners of various ages and abilities, integration of strategies into reading and writing tasks, characteristics of the multilingual writer, collaborative writing, corrective feedback, assessment of written comprehension and production, and the use of information and communication technologies.
