Topics in Health Economics
In this seminar students will apply theoretical and empirical tools to better understand current issues in the health care sector. Topics will include health production and the socioeconomic determinants of health, the demand for health care, the supply of health care, the market for health insurance, and government intervention in the market for health care. Students will read, discuss, and critically evaluate key research papers and then complete their own research study. (ECON 0200 and ECON 0211) 3 hrs. sem.
