Multimodal Anl of FLE Interact

Multimodal Analysis of Language Pedagogical Interactions

This course delves into pedagogical interactions in both face-to-face and online synchronous language teaching, focusing on French as a foreign language. Its goal is to examine various forms of interactional asymmetry and understand the unique aspects of pedagogical interactions. Emphasizing a multimodal approach, it explores the semiotic resources available to teachers. Additionally, it introduces students to the interaction analysis research field. The course addresses transcription-related questions and explores typological aspects of interactions, particularly in language teaching settings. Upon completion, students will be able to finely analyze verbal interactions, identifying and examining different forms of interactional asymmetry in language teaching interactions, both typical and atypical and understand the specificities of online teaching (synchronous).
