Adv Grammar Comp &Oral Express

Advanced Grammar and Composition
Note: This level is obligatory for students who apply for the graduate program but do not have a major in Italian, have not completed course work equivalent to a major in Italian and are not able to demonstrate this level of linguistic proficiency. This level is also optional for students who apply for level III but score very high on the placement examination. All students in this level must take the courses listed below.

This course is designed for students who have previously studied the fundamental structures of the Italian grammar and want to expand their oral and written language skills and to advance to a higher level of proficiency. Specifically, this course focuses on a deeper analysis of syntax, its structure, and functions. Students will read and work on original Italian texts of various styles, and progressively construct a repertoire of textual forms (narrative, descriptive, expressive, and argumentative) to communicate flexibly and fluently in writing and speaking.
